Song of the Day: And
the Angels Sing features the music of trumpeter Ziggy
Elman and the lyrics of Johnny
Mercer, who was born 100
years ago today. The most famous version of this song was recorded by
the Benny
Goodman Big Band, featuring the sweet vocals of Martha
Tilton and a rousing trumpet solo by Elman.
In celebration of the centennial of the birth of the
Great Mercer, take a look at this YouTube
moment of this terrific song.

This was a great game. I live in Switzerland and way back in the 70's I had the
pleasure of seeing a game of the Yankees live in the stadium. Ever since I
follow them and seeing them win was just fantastic!
