SCIABARRA RESPONDS TO THE CRITICS
RESPONSE TO JOHN B. RIDPATH
This is not a published response to The Intellectual Activist review of my book by John B. Ridpath. But this is an official disclaimer, to reiterate the one made in my book: My publisher never claimed that my book benefitted from the "cooperation" of Dr. Leonard Peikoff. Only Laissez-Faire Books made that mistake -- and they are not running that advertisement any longer. I make it quite clear in my book that Dr. Peikoff and the Estate informed me of certain historical and legal issues, and I publish a disclaimer in the acknowledgments section taking full responsibility for my work. Interestingly, though Dr. Ridpath condemns my book as "worthless" in that it offers "nothing of significance about Ayn Rand and Objectivism," I have cooperated with the producers of the documentary of Rand's life, "Ayn Rand: A Sense of Life," and the archivists of The Ayn Rand Institute (for which Dr. Ridpath is a member of the Board of Directors), in providing them with some of the original historical research from my book on Ayn Rand. Finally, Dr. Ridpath calls me "Christopher Sciabarra." My name is not Christopher. It is Chris Matthew Sciabarra.
