"RECENSIONER:  LASVART OM OCH AV RAND - RAND:  EN DIALEKTIKER?"

In this Swedish-language review essay, Svensson examines both Sciabarra's book and Michael Berliner's edited collection Letters of Ayn Rand.   He praises Sciabarra's book as a possible corrective to the unfortunate state of affairs that exists due to Rand's absence from the professional academy. Though Svensson questions whether Sciabarra "is lead astray by an intense wish to find connections between Rand and her Russian past," he believes that the presentation is thorough and fair. He is, however, critical of comparative analyses made between Rand and some of her adversaries: Kant, linguist, and feminist philosophers. Still, he believes that the book is innovative, especially in its third part, wherein "Sciabarra shows that there is a larger, more complete and important project in changing the culture and the way of thinking." Svensson concludes that the book "suits all academics interested in the philosophy of Ayn Rand," and that next to Peikoff's Objectivism:  The Philosophy of Ayn Rand, Sciabarra's book "is the best complete introduction to Objectivism. . . . The book gives insight in what an enormous and thorough system Objectivism actually is, and what radical implications it contains not only for philosophy."
