ILANA MERCER AND MARK SCOTT ON

THE MARK SCOTT SHOW

(Mark Scott is heard live on the Cyber Airwaves, 9 a.m. to noon EST, Monday - Friday; Ilana Mercer appears every Thursday at 11 a.m.)

On 26 December 2002, Ilana Mercer, a guest on The Mark Scott Show, discussed Sciabarra's Ayn Rand: The Russian Radical

Mercer told Scott that she was reading "a most remarkable book" entitled Ayn Rand: The Russian Radical.  Scott said he'd read the book some years ago, and agreed with Mercer's assessment.  Mercer was "absolutely enthralled" by the book, despite whatever criticisms were hurled Sciabarra's way by traditional Randians.  Weighing "the pluses and the minuses" and looking at it "objectively," Scott remarks:  "I thought . . . he did a sterling job.   Great piece of work.  Good book. Very informative."

Mercer is particularly impressed by Sciabarra's "new and fresh" application of the dialectical method to Rand's corpus; Scott agrees that it was an interesting "philosophical frame of reference."  Mercer adds that Sciabarra is a "very humble, very gifted young man."

Scott observes that the "Objectivists from the David Kelley side are very high on him [Sciabarra]."  To which Mercer adds:  "He deserves it!"
