The following work was first submitted as my undergraduate senior honors thesis in history, with the title: "The Implications of Interventionism: An Anaysis of the Pullman Strike." It was successfully defended as my undergraduate senior honors thesis in the New York University Department of History on 20 April 1981. Daniel Walkowitz was my undergraduate thesis advisor. I graduated magna cum laude in June 1981, with honors in history, and additional majors in politics and economics.
